Who writes this

A small independent editorial team. We are not optometrists, ophthalmologists or vision scientists, and we do not present ourselves as any of those. What we do is read primary sources carefully, check what manufacturers actually commit to in writing, and write up the result in plain language.

You will not find invented staff biographies or fabricated credentials here. Those are common in this corner of the web and they are a reason to distrust a site, not to trust it. If a claim on this site carries weight, it is because of the source attached to it, not because of who we say we are.

What we actually do

• Read the primary research. Systematic reviews first, then individual trials, with attention to sample size, blinding and who funded the work. Every finding on the site links to its source.
• Separate claims from measurements. A manufacturer's filtering percentage is labelled as their claim. We do not restate it as fact, and we explain why most such numbers are unverifiable.
• Say when the evidence is thin. Some questions here are genuinely unresolved. We label them that way instead of picking a side for the sake of a cleaner conclusion.
• Recommend not buying. Frequently. It is the correct advice for a large share of the people who arrive here, and an affiliate site that never gives it is not doing its job.

How we make money, and why it matters less than you might think

We earn affiliate commissions on some outbound retailer links. If you click one and buy something, we receive a small percentage of the sale; the price you pay is unchanged.

The usual defence offered by affiliate sites is that they earn the same rate regardless of which product you buy, so they have no incentive to steer you. That is only half true — commission is typically a percentage, so a more expensive product does pay more. We would rather state the conflict accurately than offer a reassurance that does not survive inspection.

The real check on us is the writing itself. Our homepage opens by explaining that these products probably do not do what they claim. Our buying guide argues for spending as little as possible. If the commissions were shaping the content, this site would look very different, and you would be able to tell.

What we will not do

• Claim hands-on testing we have not done.
• Publish star ratings or review counts we cannot verify, or embed them in structured data to win search results.
• Repeat a filtering percentage as though it were a measurement.
• Print hard prices that will be wrong within weeks, or "was" prices we cannot substantiate.
• Use countdown timers, fake scarcity, or invented urgency of any kind.
• Give medical advice, or imply that we are qualified to.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, we want to know, and we will correct it in public rather than quietly editing the page. Email corrections@blueblockreview.com. Corrections that change a conclusion get noted on the page itself.
