About Blue Block Review

Independent reviews backed by real research, not fake team bios.

Our Mission

Blue Block Review is an independent review site dedicated to helping you find the right blue light glasses.

We're a small team of tech enthusiasts and researchers who spend hours analyzing products, reading customer reviews, and testing glasses so you don't have to. We don't sell anything ourselves—we just review products honestly and point you to the best places to buy them.

We believe in transparency. That's why we're telling you right now: we earn affiliate commissions when you click our links. But here's the key: we earn the same commission whether you buy the $14 TIJN or the $69 GUNNAR. That means we have zero financial incentive to recommend expensive products. Our incentive is to recommend products that actually work, so you trust us and come back.

Our Editorial Standards

Honest Reviews

We show you the good AND the bad. If a product has a weakness, we tell you about it. No fake 5-star reviews.

🔬

Science-Backed

We reference real research (AAO, sleep studies, etc.) and don't make health claims we can't back up.

📊

Real Data

All ratings, prices, and review counts come from verified sources (Amazon, manufacturer specs). No made-up numbers.

What We Commit To

  • We'll update our reviews as new products come out and prices change. No stale content.
  • We'll disclose our methods. When we test products, we'll tell you exactly what we tested and how.
  • We won't pretend to be doctors or optometrists. We're researchers and product testers. For medical questions, ask a real doctor.
  • We won't hide our affiliate relationships. Every Amazon link includes our tag. See our full disclosure.

How We Review Products

1

Research & Selection

We analyze thousands of customer reviews on Amazon and other platforms to identify the most-recommended and most-discussed products. We look at what people actually say—both good and bad—in real reviews.

2

Hands-On Testing

We test each product for optical quality, comfort, durability, and actual blue light blocking. We don't just read specs—we wear them for extended periods (4-8+ hours) and compare them side by side.

3

Comparison & Analysis

We score each product on the same four criteria: optical quality, comfort, build quality, and value. We don't score based on price alone—a $14 product might have better overall value than a $69 product, and we'll say so.

4

Publishing & Updates

We publish detailed reviews with pros, cons, specs, and verdicts. We update reviews every 3 months to reflect price changes and new products. Old reviews are marked with their last update date.

How We Make Money

We earn affiliate commissions when you click links on this site and make a purchase.

Here's how it works: We link to products on Amazon (and sometimes other retailers). If you click our link and buy something within 24 hours, we get a small commission (typically 2-5% of the purchase price). You pay the same price either way—the commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not from your pocket.

Why this matters: We have zero incentive to recommend expensive products. We earn the same commission on a $14 product as a $69 product. So if we recommend the cheaper option, it's because we think it's actually better for most people.

This is why we're transparent: We tell you upfront that our links are affiliate links (marked "sponsored"). We also show you the full comparison table so you can make your own decision. If you want to buy directly from Amazon without our link, we won't judge you—though we'd lose the commission.

Common Questions

Are your reviews really unbiased if you earn commissions?

Great question. We think so, and here's why: we earn the same commission on every product we recommend, regardless of price. The cheap TIJN glasses and the expensive GUNNAR glasses earn us the same commission rate. So our only incentive is to recommend the best product for each use case. If we're wrong, you'll notice and won't come back. If we're right, you'll trust us.

Why don't you have a team page with bios?

Because fake team bios are a huge problem in affiliate marketing. We're not going to invent people and pretend to have credentials we don't have. We're a small team of people who like testing products and writing reviews. That's honest enough.

Can I contact you with product suggestions?

Yes! Email us at [email protected] with any product suggestions, corrections, or feedback. We read every email and consider all suggestions. We might not review every product, but we appreciate the input.

How often do you update your reviews?

We update reviews every 3 months to reflect price changes, new products, and updated research. Every review shows its last update date. If a price or product is no longer available, we'll update the review or mark it as outdated.
